John Bowman

John S. Bowman has been an editor of non-fiction and reference books for some 60 years. Although none of the countless books happen to deal specifically with labor activists or labor issues, several have involved his dealing with just such. Thus in compiling subjects for his Cambridge (Univ. Press) Dictionary of American Biography he made sure to include labor leaders. Beyond that, for his entire life he has been an avid reader of newspapers, book reviews, periodicals, and occasional books that have kept him informed on the country's labor scene. Thus most recently he has read Working Class New York by Joshua Freeman. Bowman resides in Northampton, MA
